Overview
Feedbask's landing page already worked in clearly explaining the product with a functioning conversion flow. The challenge was to create a clear visual hierarchy: taking a good hero section and making it read faster and feel more intentional.
Opportunity
The existing hero had a lot happening at once: feature checklist, floating cards against the skeleton in the background, and primary colour used in too many places, all competing for the same attention. The opportunity was to simplify without losing what the hero needed to communicate: that Feedbask is a capable, multi-feature product. I focused on bringing out the value using illustrations.
Shaping the experience
I iterated the illustrations section to remove the elements that were pulling focus without necessarily adding value. Four patterns were clear as I starting auditing the entire hero: spacing, color, illustration depth, and type weight. Rather than a full visual overhaul, the redesign worked within the existing design system and execution through more restraint.
- Spacing — Increased breathing room between elements so each one could stand on its own instead of visually competing with other elements.
- Color discipline — Pulled the primary purple back to only the logo, CTA, and widget preview, so color signals where to act instead of decorating the whole layout.
- Illustration & depth — Let the illustration carry the feature storytelling with perspective to add depth, while keeping color usage minimal so attention still lands on the CTA.
- Typography — Reduced the heading's font weight. Size and position already gave it prominence, so a lighter weight reduced visual clutter while keeping the emphasis intact.
Outcome
Shared the redesign with the Founder of Feedbask and it got a positive response. It spoke to a broader design principle: most redesigns of already-decent products aren't always about big new ideas, they're about subtraction; finding the few things doing too much work and dialing them back.
